Shhh.. listen closely..
If you face the horizon and catch the wind at just the right moment, you’ll hear cannon fire, creaking sails, a ship’s hull tearing through the water and the gentle, quiet hums of sea shanties.
Yes, it is that time of year again. The Fort Myers Beach Pirate Festival is on it’s way!
The Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce will be hosting families and pirates from near and far during the 11th annual Fort Myers Beach Pirate Festival during Columbus Day weekend, October 7-9, 2016 on Old San Carlos Boulevard.
Named the #2 Pirate Festival in the Country by USA Today, this family friendly event attracts thousands of people that come to enjoy the pirate bazaar, themed live music and performances, exhilarating live ship battles, children’s activities and the jolly Pub Quest (21+ event). Pirates and landlubbers both young and old are sure to walk away with memories to treasure.
For three days, pirate krewes take over the length of Old San Carlos Blvd, just a one mile walk from our front door. Kick off your swashbuckling Columbus Day weekend on Friday, Oct. 7 at the 21+ Pub Quest. Put on your best pirate garb and travel with your pirate krewe to a number of beach watering holes that will be offering amazing specials. Awards and prizes will be given out for a number of costumes and categories.
Bring the whole family on Saturday (Oct. 8) and Sunday (Oct. 9) and enjoy all of the pirate action from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Make sure you don’t miss the highlight of the festival– a live ship battle!
Adult entry is $5.00 (Ages 12+) with all proceeds going towards The Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce and its affiliated charities.
We hope to see you there! ARRR!
