It’s January! 2015 really snuck up on us but we are excited that “season” is kicking into full gear here in Fort Myers Beach! With the influx of so many travelers comes a lot of excitement and hustle and bustle on the beach, meaning lots of great seasonal events to attend! Below, you will find information about a few of our favorite January events we would recommend that you attend!
Head into the heart of downtown Fort Myers Beach for the island’s weekly sunset celebration. At this free, weekly event, enjoy live music from local bands, grab a bite to eat and of course, take in the stunning sunset over the gulf. Bring a beach chair and post up near the fun or make your way out to the sand; they are each equally as entertaining.
Event takes place every Friday and Saturday evening.
Located directly in Times Square, just right of the bridge, only 1.4 miles west of Beach Shell Inn.
Trek from the sand to the Big Cypress Seminole Reservation for one of the best events of the year! Celebrate 119 years of the Seminole Tribe’s successes in the state of Florida. Starting at 10am with traditional food, crafts, cultural exhibits and presentations, as well as wildlife shows—there is no shortage of activities for both young and old. At 6pm, enjoy a concert with some of country music’s biggest stars.
